For the first time ever, 113 players have been chosen for the Bermuda Football Association National Academy beginning in September 2009. These players will go down in history as the first players chosen for the National Academy program, as the BFA continue to improve the overall structure of football in the island. This is evident, seeing this is outlined in the Strategic Plan.
Over 200 names were submitted from various local clubs as they took part in a four day trial during the month of April at the Bermuda Football Association National Training facility. Player’s were then short listed for the next six weeks as the BFA conducted training sessions too select the final list under the watchful eyes of Technical Director Derek Broadley and Youth Director, Devarr Boyles.
