The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) is thrilled to announce the official selection of the Senior Men’s National team that will be facing off against French Guiana in an upcoming international match on Friday,September 8, 2023. The highly anticipated match is the first for our Gombey Warriors with newly appointed Head Coach, Michael Findlay at the helm.
The selected squad, representing Bermuda, comprises a dynamic group of talented athletes who will be hungry to start their campaign with a positive result by collecting three points in front of their local fans.
As overseas players return home, training for our men’s squad will take place leading up to the match on September 8, 2023. The following day the team will travel to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for theirAway match against the SVG side.
"It's an exciting time to be involved in Concacaf as we enter a new cycle in the region and the entire team and staff are looking forward to our 1st match vs. French Guiana, especially as it is at home. French Guiana are a formidable opponent with recent Gold Cup preliminary experience, possession of several qualities, and the way they address competition. This is based on a strong relationship and foundation they have with the French Football Association. We look forward to the challenge they present us on many levels," said Michael Findlay, Senior Men’s Head Coach, when asked his initial thoughts going into Match 1 vs. French Guiana.
Findlay went on to say of his goal for the upcoming campaign, "Given the short amount of time we have had in the lead-up to these initial matches, it is certainly our expectation first and foremost that this group of players will compete and fight as a team for a result, which is what we must have as our objective in all these Concacaf Nations League matches if we wish to gain promotion to League “A”! In conjunction with that mentality, we will begin the process of establishing our long-term belief system within the group and introduce those key tactical elements required to gain the results we have lacked recently and are needed to meet our objective."
