The Bermuda Senior Men’s National Team celebrated a hard-fought 0-1 victory over Antigua and Barbuda in their second match of the 2024 Concacaf Nations League on Tuesday, September 10th. The match took place at the ABFA Technical Center in Antigua and Barbuda, and the kick-off time was 5 PM AST.
The lone goal of the match came from #21 Kane Crichlow, who found the net in the 56th minute. The victory was crucial for Bermuda’s hopes of progressing in the tournament.
Head Coach Michael Findlay expressed his satisfaction with the result but acknowledged the team's need for improvement in certain areas. "First and foremost, we are pleased with the result as we needed 3 points to keep the opportunity of winning the group still possible." Findlay continued, "So, we met our objective, and we need to celebrate. However, we continue to underperform in the final 3rdand final actions, and this will be an area we need to focus on."
Findlay also highlighted the team's positive performance in other areas of the game. "The performance as it relates to all the statistical analysis is once again positive, but this must go hand in hand with being more critical in these areas as we need more consistency in the final 3rd of the game as we make things very difficult for ourselves when it does not need to be given the ability myself and the staff believe we have in the group," he added. “The players are all looking forward to coming home to play two matches vs Dominica in front of our fans, and the hope is we can get even closer to our goal of putting ourselves in a position to compete to win the group."
As Coach Findlay mentioned, the Senior Men’s National Team will face Dominica in October at home, as we are the host country for the October window. Tickets for these games will be available on GPass shortly.
