The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) in conjunction with the Women’s Committee will hold an online conference on March 8, 2022, International Women’s Day. The title is #girlsplayfootball—Break the Bias, which aligns with the theme for International Women’s Day 2022. The objectives of the online event are to connect, share, support and inspire.
The keynote speaker is Sonia Fulford-Missick—former player, president of Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association, FIFA, Concacaf and CFU board member.
The other speakers are:
- Tashana Vincent—FIFA Legend, former Reggae Girlz striker, assistant coach Jamaica U-20
- Jassett Kerr-Wilson—FIFA Referee who made history as one of two women to stand in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, shortlisted for World Cup 2023
- Team Antigua Island Girls—first Black team and first Caribbean women to row any ocean when they crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a 28ft vessel, preparing to row the Pacific in 2023.
