FC Bascome will square off against Robin Hood in the 2024 Under-18 Charles Marshall Cup final. The final will be held on Friday, January 5th at 7:00pm at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence (CBCOE). The tournament is in honour of the late Honorary Life Vice President Charles Marshall. Mr. Marshall served two terms as President of the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) from 1990. He was a key player in the desegregation of local football by uniting the separate black and white leagues into what became the Bermuda Football Association. He was also a founding member and longtime President of the Bermuda Referee Association (BRA). Additionally, Mr. Marshall earned his FIFA referee badge and officiated over 20 senior international matches. He would later become a philanthropist donating $1 million in creating the Charles E. and Lesley Marshall Fund for Football.
Both FC Bascome and Robin Hood went undefeated during the group stages of the seven-team tournament. FC Bascome came from behind to defeat Somerset Trojans in the first semifinal. Enrique Mendes opened the scoring for the west enders before Mosiais Mills equalized for Bascome. Zachary Mcguire scored the winner for FC Bascome with a well-executed headed goal to seal the win. Robin Hood scored six second half goals to overcome Dandy Town 7-0 in the other semifinal. Bakari Furbert led Robin Hood with a hattrick.
